Lectins In Food
Trouble with Your Gut or Inflammation
Ailments* Imbalances*Pain
Primary cause and contributor to Gut pain or Inflammation,
which can create illness or diseases are the lectins in specific foods.
WARNING, The lectins can cause harm by binding to the lining of our gut and leads to
inflammation and health issues, such as autoimmune disorders, diabetes, leaky gut syndrome,
heart disease and neuro-degenerative diseases.
LECTIN is a carbohydrate-binding protein that can be found in varying amounts in most plants, including beans, pulses, grains, fruits and vegetables (eg, potatoes, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, zucchini, carrots, berries, watermelon), nuts, coffee, chocolate, and some herbs and spices (eg, peppermint, marjoram, nutmeg)
.
LIMIT OR AVOID these foods containing lectins -
DAIRY all products. OK grass fed goat yogurt in moderation.
FRUITS most all contain lectins. Limit fruit intake. OK to consume moderate amounts of in-season fruit. Fruits to consume: avocados, berries, and coconut. The blood type A negative (non-secretor) body antigens is the blood type that accepts the coconut lectins.
GRAINS All especially wheat, rice and corn and all products made from these like bread and cake, cereals, chips, etc. brown rice and quinoa.
HERBS & SPICES - Oregano, parsley, peppermint nutmeg and spices
LEGUMES including beans, peas, lentils, and peanuts.
MEAT – avoid meat from corn fed cattle.
NUTS and SEEDS to limit or avoid: almonds, especially cashews and peanuts (includes peanut base products) contain high levels of lectins. Exceptions - Cooking with wet, high-heat methods like boiling, stewing, or soaking can deactivate most lectins. When it comes to the lectins in nuts and seeds, these are water-soluble and found on the outer surface so exposure to water removes them.
Acceptable Nuts and Seeds to eat in *moderation include walnuts (the healthiest) pecans, chia seeds, hemp seeds, sesame seeds, and hazelnuts. *Moderation eat one nut for every ten pounds of desired body weight.
OTHER SEEDS to avoid: tomato seeds, cucumber seeds, pepper seeds.
VEGETABLES - limit/Avoid: squashes especially butternut squash and pumpkin, the nightshade vegetables: eggplant (aubergine),peppers, potatoes, and tomatoes. Remove seeds to reduce ailments
*Helpful suggestion: - Cooking, especially with wet high-heat methods like boiling or stewing, or soaking in water for several hours, can inactivate most lectins. Lectins are water-soluble and typically found on the outer surface of a food, so exposure to water helps to eradicate the lectins.
The down side to cooking the foods is, when foods are heated/cooked at 118 degrees or higher, all the Minerals are destroyed during the cooking process

Why You Must Avoid foods with High Lectins
Lectins are sometimes dangerous because of how they bind to carbohydrates like sugar. You should avoid certain types of lectins due to a risk of:
Malnutrition
Certain types of lectins can prevent your body from absorbing other substances that have nutritional value. This can eventually lead to serious problems such as malnutrition.
Poisoning
Some sources of lectins are considered seriously poisonous. Castor beans, for example, contain a potent lectin poison called ricin.
Damage to the Digestive System
Certain types of lectin may bind with the walls of your digestive system which can lead to serious problems. Eating one particular lectin, phytohemagglutinin, can lead to severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Potential Risk of Auto-immune Response
Some proponents of lectin-free diets claim that lectins can cause symptoms of auto-immune disorders. However, studies are still being done to confirm or deny this idea. Currently, there is no scientific consensus backing up the idea that lectins are connected to any health conditions outside of acute lectin poisoning.

Adhering to your blood type foods
Each of the eight blood types lists lectins and agglutens in foods, that may prove harmful to your health. Helpful Guideline - Avoid your blood type foods listed that are dissagreable with your blood type A.AB.B.O and the Rh factor secretor or non-secretor.
