How to PREVENT or REDUCE
Acid reflex is a condition where stomach acids back up in the esophagus. You can alleviate symptoms through correcting your dietary habits and usage of supplements.
Eat smaller meals that are more frequent. Make a fist - The size of your stomach and your heart are both equal to the size of your fist. Consume food portions equal to the size of your fist.
Larger meals may cause digestive and elimination ailments.
Reduce the amount of caffeine you consume.
Reduce or eliminate ALL sodas, acid forming foods, spices or hot spicy foods.
Avoid combining animal protein foods (dairy, meats, poultry, fish, and eggs) in the same meal as grains (breads, cereals, pasta, chips). This combination causes digestive confusion in your stomach thus contributing or generating acid reflex response.
Abstain from consuming fruits with any other foods. Examples: yogurt with fruits, fruits mixed with vegetables, apple pie, fruit in cereal, etc.
Abstain from drinking beverages with a meal. Consume beverages one hour prior to or following the meal.
Eat slowly and be mindful of your meal. Chew your food thoroughly thirty-two times, this generates healthier digestion and better absorption of nutrients in the small intestine for a healthier you.
If you are going to consume unhealthy combination, then consider administering a quality Digestive Enzyme - Natural Factors - to be taken at beginning of meal.
If you have erred and mixed the incorrect foods together, consider administering one to three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with a small amount of water; to be administered after a meal, which can neutralize acid and potentially prevent acid reflex.
